About Us
Serving the
Community for 40 Years! Galway Ambulance Corps started in June 1968 when Providence and Galway split into two separate units. There were 42 charter members whose primary purpose was to provide emergency medical care to the sick and injured, transportation to a medical facility, and ongoing education in the community for the towns of Galway, Perth and Charlton. We moved into our new building in May 2003. In 2004 our agency achieved full ALS (Advanced Life Support) status, offering critical life saving interventions to those presenting with different maladies. Today we continue to provide this advanced care at the Paramedic level. Our membership is predominantly a strong volunteer base of drivers, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and advanced providers up to the Paramedic level. This volunteer staff is supplemented with paid Paramedics in order to provide the highest level of pre-hospital patient care on a 24 hour a day basis. We serve a combined population of over 4,000. This district includes East & West Galway, Galway Village, Galway Lake, and Charlton. Our district is serviced from our one station located on Galway Road in the Village of Galway. Our front line apparatus includes two advanced life support ambulances. Our agency works in conjunction with Galway Fire Company, West Charlton Fire Company, Harmony Corners Fire Company, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, and many other surrounding agencies.
